Bees play a crucial role in pollinating plants, which is essential for producing fruits, vegetables, and nuts. They help maintain biodiversity and support ecosystems by ensuring plants reproduce and thrive.

You can support bees by planting pollinator-friendly flowers and plants, avoiding the use of pesticides, providing a water source for them, and supporting local beekeepers by purchasing honey or beeswax products.

If you encounter a swarm, don’t panic—bees are typically non-aggressive while swarming.  Contact us about relocating them for you.

Bees are generally fuzzy, which helps them collect pollen, and they feed on nectar and pollen from flowers. Wasps are smoother, more slender, and primarily carnivorous, feeding on other insects. While bees are important pollinators, wasps play a role in controlling pest populations. However, wasps are typically more aggressive than bees.

Our honey is raw but the US does not have a definitions for organic honey.  Bees can fly upwards of 3 miles or more to find resources.  So we cannot tell you what the farms around us are using.

Anyone utilizing the Real Texas Honey™ seal is prohibited from advertising their honey as organic.

Beekeepers often charge for swarm removals because managing the process involves significant costs, time, and effort. A new queen may need to be purchased to ensure calm and manageable genetics, which costs around $40. Medications to keep the bees healthy are expensive, and setting up a new hive, including equipment and materials, can cost over $250. Additionally, the price for a swarm removal can vary depending on the complexity and time required to safely remove the bees. Charging for this service helps cover these expenses while compensating the beekeeper for their expertise and labor.

I would love to do these for free and while sometimes I will; I also have bills to pay and expenses to cover.

Why it happens
Honey crystallizes because it's made of sugar and water, and there's not enough water to dissolve the sugar forever. Crystallization can happen in colder temperatures, like during the winter. Fresh, raw honey crystallizes faster because it has more small particles, like pollen grains, to build on.

Yes, crystallized honey is safe to eat and still tastes sweet. Crystallization can indicate that the honey is high quality and hasn't been processed.

To liquefy crystallized honey, you can:

  • Fill a large bowl with warm water

  • Place the honey bottle in the bowl and let it sit for 10-15 minutes

  • Remove the honey bottle from the bowl and open it

  • Stir the honey with a spoon to break up any remaining crystals
